FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION and
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Stillwater Board of County Commissioners
(Commission)is preparing its Preliminary Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2008-2009. The
preliminary budget will be available and open for public inspection on August 28, 2008, and may
be viewed in the County’s Finance Department, located on the 2nd Floor of the courthouse. This
document will remain available for review during business hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm) until the start
of the Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at 1:30 P.M. in the
Commissioners’ Chambers. Any taxpayer or resident may appear at the hearing and be heard for
or against any part of the proposed budget. The governing body may amend the preliminary budget
after the public hearing and after considering public comment. The Commission will meet to adopt
by Resolution the Final 2008-2009 Budget and make appropriations on Tuesday, September 16,
2008, at 9:00 A.M. in the Commissioners’ Chambers located at 400 3rd Ave North, 2nd Floor,
Columbus, Montana. Individuals with a disability who need reasonable accommodation to
participate in the hearing or meeting please contact the Commission at 322-8010, 48 hours prior

NOTICE OF ORDINANCE READINGS
7-5-103 M.C.A.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Stillwater Board of County Commissioners will hold two
(2) readings on proposed Ordinance # 2008-01 that would establish penalties for violations of
Stillwater County’s county-wide Encroachment Permit Policy under the authority of Montana Code
Annotated, Title 7, Chapter14, Part 21 (2007). The first reading will be held on Tuesday,
September 16, 2008, at 1:30 P.M. and the second reading will be held on Tuesday, September
30, 2008, at 1:30 P.M., in the Commissioners’ Chambers, located on the 2nd Floor of the County
Courthouse, 400 3rd Ave North, Columbus, MT. Pursuant to 7-5-105, MCA, the ordinance shall be
effective 30 days after the second reading and final adoption. Written and oral comments will be
accepted at or before each public reading. Please mail comments to: Stillwater Board of County

The Stillwater County Floodplain Administrator has received application to
Excavate five existing ponds on the SE ¼ NE ¼ of East Rosebud Creek for gravel
to be used in the construction of roadways within Rosebud River Sanctuary
Subdivision, T4 South, Range 18 East, Section 25, Stillwater County, on land
owned by Lincoln Powers.
